You know what's not overrated? Plaid. I can't get enough of it and neither can husband and wife haberdashers Mac and Katherine McMillan, who just launched their own collection of ties called Pierrepont Hicks out of Minnesota. The all USA-made line has a couple of skinny (3" at their widest point) neck ties and bow ties, all in a rainbow of plaids. The coolest part though is on the tail of the tie, where they add a pop of color that you can't see until you flip the tie around. My favorite's gotta be this green, blue, and yellow "Gordon Ancient" Scottish tartan one with a kick of orange ($79). It's a combo you can't really beat.
